Avoid Getting a Traffic Ticket


Thesis: Every year over 34 million people receive a traffic ticket from a police officer.

I. Keeping your car looking nice and clean, modifications and well maintained are less likely cars that are noticed by officers.
A.Cleanliness helps inside and out.
B. Modifications can attract officers, always best kept to a minimum.
C.Condition of your car is also ways your can be noticed if it needs a tuneup.

II. Speaking with the officer after getting pulled over may help, its better than being silent.
A. Knowing his rank may help when responding with his title.
1.Three stripes: Sargent
2. One or two Stripes: Corporal
3. No Stripes, but in a state police car: Trooper
4. No Stripes, but in a county car: Deputy
5. Not sure stick with Officer

III. Another way to help prevent a ticket could be to Lie, Cry and Beg.
A. Never make your lie easily detected.
1. The most common are the ones less effective.
B. Crying is more effective, specifically for woman.
2. Cry the entire time make it believable.
C. Begging may work but it may worsen the ticket.
3. I would only try in dire circumstances.

IV. All in all if you don't want a ticket the best thing to do is drive safe and follow the law.
A. Try and avoid seeding.
B. Follow the traffic signs.
C. Keep your eyes open for officers.
